- **Facts** — fiscal year end, jurisdictions, deadlines, materiality.
- **Policies** — how this business categorises things, in its own words.
- **Precedents** — how a judgement call was made before.
- **Decisions** — with the rationale and who made them.

**The decision log is the highest-value artefact here.** "The Henderson deposit was reclassified to deferred revenue because delivery is in Q3 — controller, task 4471" is day-one reading for a new bookkeeper, the answer to an auditor's question, and the end of re-litigating the same judgement every quarter.

**Everything learned is visible, listed and individually deletable**, with a count of what it affects. A quietly-learned miscategorisation compounds all year; one you can see and delete does not.
