# Importing a bank export file (CSV, OFX, QIF)

> Upload a CSV, OFX/QFX or QIF export, map the columns once and save the mapping as a template; duplicates are skipped and near-duplicates flagged.

Banking → Imports.

**Choose the account** the file belongs to and drop the file in. **OFX/QFX and QIF** are recognised on sight — the bank's own transaction ids come with them, so re-importing the same file is entirely duplicates. **CSV** needs the columns mapped once (date, description, amount — or debit and credit columns — and any reference); the mapping is saved as a template for that bank so the next file needs no mapping.

**Preview** shows the first rows as they will import; fix the mapping there if a date or sign is wrong. **Import** then reports what was imported, what was skipped as an exact duplicate, what was flagged as a possible duplicate (same amount and date, different description), and any rows it could not read.

Imported lines land in the [bank review queue](https://intubu.intuitivecapital-dai.com/docs/bank-review) like feed lines, ready to categorise. A connected bank feed makes this unnecessary — see [Connecting your bank and credit cards (Plaid)](https://intubu.intuitivecapital-dai.com/docs/bank-connections).
