# The close-readiness meter

The meter answers "how close are we to closing?" as a number rather than a feeling.

**The eight components and their weights:**

**It is auditable.** Click *How is this calculated?* and every component shows its own numerator, denominator, ratio and points. The total is reproducible by hand. A meter nobody can check is decoration.

At 100% the month-end close checklist is already satisfied — closing becomes a status change rather than a scramble.
