# Seeing financial detail from CRM

> Cross-scope grants let a rep see a balance without giving them the books.

Section: Workspaces and access · Canonical: https://intubu.intuitivecapital-dai.com/docs/cross-workspace-visibility

A CRM account and an accounting customer are the same company, so a rep looking at an account could usefully see whether it owes money. That is not automatic.

**Cross-scope grants** are separate, explicit permissions:

- `crm.read.customer_financials` — balance and aging on the customer record
- `operations.read.item_costs` — cost and margin on items
- `service.read.contract_billing` — contract billing in Service
- `accounting.read.pipeline_summary` — pipeline totals in Accounting
- `marketing.read.customer_financials` — financial signals for building segments

**Without the grant the panel is absent, not blank.** A blanked-out figure still tells a rep that a figure exists, and people learn to ask about what is hidden. Instead the screen says plainly that financial detail needs a permission, and names it.

The same rule applies to AI answers: a question whose answer would need data outside your access says so rather than quietly leaving it out.
