# Saved export layouts

> Choose the columns, order, labels and formats you want, then save that arrangement as the default for the screen.

Export → **Customise columns…**

**What you can change:**
- Which columns are included, by ticking them.
- The order, by dragging.
- The heading each column is given — rename *Total* to whatever the system you are pasting into expects.
- The format per column: money, date, number, yes/no or plain text.
- Dates as ISO, US or UK.
- Negatives as `-89.99` or, in the accounting convention, `(89.99)`.
- Comma, semicolon or tab separated, with or without a header row.

**Saving it:** give the layout a name. Marking it the default means the plain Export button uses it from then on for that screen — you arrange it once and never think about it again. Other saved layouts stay available from the dropdown beside the button.

**Layouts survive column changes.** If a column named in a layout no longer exists, it is dropped from the export rather than producing a wall of empty cells.
