# Connecting Claude Desktop or another AI to IntuBu (MCP)

> Mint a token, paste one snippet, and an external AI can read and draft as you — never post, pay, send or file.

Settings → MCP connections → My connections.

**What it is.** MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard way an AI client — Claude Desktop, an IDE agent, your own app — talks to a tool. IntuBu speaks it, so you can ask Claude "which of my invoices are overdue?" and get a real answer from your books.

**The token is you.** You make a token for each client and machine. It can read only what you can open in IntuBu, and draft only what you could draft. If you have CRM access and not the ledger, the token has CRM access and not the ledger. Sensitive fields — tax IDs, bank numbers, salaries — are masked whatever your role.

**It cannot post, pay, send or file.** Those tools are not disabled; they do not exist on this surface. A draft invoice made through Claude appears in IntuBu as a draft with a review task, exactly as if a colleague had typed it in.

**Setting it up.** Create the token, then copy the *Claude Desktop* snippet into claude_desktop_config.json (Claude → Settings → Developer → Edit config) and restart Claude. Any other client: Streamable HTTP, the endpoint shown, and an "Authorization: Bearer" header. The token is shown once — IntuBu keeps only a hash.

**If nothing can be made,** the company has MCP switched off. An owner or settings administrator turns it on under the Governance tab.

**Revoke** a connection the moment a laptop is lost. The next call with that token is refused.
