# Running multiple companies

> One login, many companies, completely separate books. Switch from the dropdown at the top.

The company name at the top left is a dropdown. It lists every company on your account; choosing one switches the entire application to that company's books.

**Each company is genuinely separate:** its own chart of accounts, customers, vendors, documents, ledger, settings and industry editions. Nothing leaks between them.

**Adding one:** the dropdown → *Add company*, or Settings → Companies. Choose entity type and industry and a fresh chart of accounts is seeded.

**Consolidated view:** the dropdown → *Consolidated view* rolls several companies into one set of statements.

**Permissions** are granted per company, so a bookkeeper can be given one company without seeing the others.
