# Registers

> A running bank-register view of any balance sheet account.

The familiar chequebook view — date, payee, memo, amount in, amount out, running balance — available for *any* balance sheet account, not only bank ones. Credit cards, loans, undeposited funds and clearing accounts all get the same treatment.

Useful when a balance is wrong and you want to walk it rather than run a report: the running balance shows exactly where it diverged.

Opening a line opens the document behind it. Nothing is edited in place here — a posted entry is corrected by reversing it, which keeps the audit trail intact.
