PayPal and IntuBu
Status: File import. Consumer and invoice payments, plus PayPal balance activity.
How it works
File import only — a direct connection to PayPal is not built: nothing signs in to PayPal and nothing is pulled automatically. Two import paths exist. Under Banking → Payment Platforms, set PayPal up with its deposit bank, fee and income accounts, then Import payouts by pasting each payout's id, date, gross, fees, refunds and net (a JSON list); a row whose gross − fees − refunds does not equal net is rejected, a payout id already imported is skipped, and posting books the net to the bank, fees to their own expense account, refunds to sales returns and the gross to income, then matches the deposit to the bank-feed line. Alternatively, PayPal's activity CSV can be imported under Banking → Imports against a PayPal account set up as a bank account. Currency-conversion lines are not separated automatically.
Why it matters
PayPal balances drift from the ledger faster than any other account because money sits in them. Treating the balance as a real bank account fixes that.
