Microsoft Power BI and IntuBu
Status: Available now. Dashboards and analysis over accounting and operational data.
How it works
Built in: a read-only OData v4 feed at /api/odata. Under Settings → API & Webhooks → Excel & BI, create a read-only API key, then in Power BI choose Get Data → OData feed, paste the address and pick Basic authentication with the key as the password (the user name is ignored), so the key never sits in the URL. Feeds cover accounts, general-ledger lines, customers, vendors, invoices and bills, payments, items and projects, plus the profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, trial balance and aged receivables/payables reports with their period on the address. Each feed needs its own scope on the key (read:accounting, read:sales, read:purchases, read:reports…), $filter is parsed rather than passed to SQL, and only allow-listed columns are exposed. Refresh re-reads the live books.
Why it matters
BI tools are the usual way permissions get bypassed: someone exports everything to a dashboard nobody scoped. A feed that sees only what its key's scopes allow prevents it.
