Backups and restore
An encrypted copy of your company you hold yourself, and how to bring it back.
Settings → Backups.
Produces an encrypted archive of the company — accounts, documents, journals, customers, vendors, employees, items and the rest — that you keep yourself.
The passphrase is yours and there is no recovery. At least eight characters, and if it is lost the backup is unreadable by anybody including us. That is what "encrypted" has to mean for it to be worth anything.
Restoring previews first. A restore shows what it would change before it changes it, and restoring into an existing company asks you to type the company name to confirm — because the alternative is somebody discovering afterwards that they overwrote live books.
Backups carry a manifest and a SHA-256, so what comes back can be proven to be what went in.
