The welcome walkthrough

What the assistant asks on your first sign-in, and how to run it again.

The first time you sign in, the assistant opens and asks one question: start your company from scratch, or import data files.

Start from scratch if the business is new, or if you would rather key in opening balances than wrestle an export out of an old system. Your chart of accounts is already seeded from the entity type and industry you picked at signup, so the walkthrough points you at company details, the chart of accounts, your first customer and your first invoice — in that order, because each one makes the next easier.

Import data files if you are moving from somewhere else. It asks what you actually have — another accounting system, spreadsheets, or bank statements — because the route differs. Neither choice locks anything in. You can import later after starting fresh, or key things in after importing.

Running it again: Help → Assistant, then "Start the welcome walkthrough again". Useful when you set up a second company, or when somebody new joins and wants the tour.

It appears once per person rather than once per company, so somebody invited to a second set of books is not greeted twice.
