Service contracts and preventive maintenance
Coverage, SLA and entitlements per customer; PM schedules by time or meter that raise their own service orders.
Service → Contracts & PM.
A contract sets what is covered (labour, parts, both, or nothing but entitlements), the SLA in hours, visits per year, a parts discount, and the priority their orders get. Orders raised for that customer pick it up automatically. A covered line bills at $0; a discounted part is discounted; a visit under the contract counts against the entitlement.
Billing rides on a subscription when the contract has one (Sales → Subscriptions); otherwise the contract records how it is billed and the invoice is yours to raise.
Preventive maintenance is a schedule: every N days/weeks/months/years, or every N hours/cycles on the unit's meter. Generate due orders creates one service order for each schedule inside its lead window — and only one; a schedule with an order still open is left alone. Completing that order rolls the schedule forward. Meter schedules fire when the reading is within 10% of the target, because a unit at 1,480 hours with a 1,500-hour service is due.
