Reconciling a bank account
Match your ledger to the statement until the difference is zero, then lock it.
Banking → Reconcile.
Enter the statement's ending date and balance. IntuBu fills the opening balance from your last reconciliation.
Tick everything that appears on the statement. The header shows Statement balance − Cleared balance = Difference, live.
Finish is disabled until the difference is zero. That is the point of a reconciliation.
If you genuinely cannot find the difference, Finish with adjustment posts it to Reconciliation Discrepancies. It requires the recon.adjust permission and a written reason, because an unexplained adjustment is a red flag, not a shortcut.
Afterwards: cleared status is locked and a Reconciliation Report is stored. Editing or deleting a reconciled transaction anywhere in the app raises a blocking dialog requiring a reason.
Starting a session needs the statement date and the statement's ending balance (zero is allowed — a closed account has one); the ending balance is pre-filled with the ledger balance as a hint, not as the answer. Choose a bank or card account.
A session you walked away from does not lock anything. Lines cleared in an unfinished session used to disappear from the next one; now, starting a new session for the same account adopts them — still ticked, counted in the cleared balance — and the old session is marked abandoned in the list. Finish the new one as normal; the abandoned one needs no undo.
