Waves, pick paths, packing and ship confirm
Release orders into a wave, pick in bin order with a scanner, pack into cartons, and ship-confirm so COGS posts at scan time.
Warehouse → Waves & picking, Pack & ship.
Release. Open sales orders with something left to ship sit in the release queue. Wave everything due by a date, or tick the ones you want. A wave is one walk: one pick per line per bin, sorted by each bin's pick sequence, then aisle and shelf. With batch picking each order gets a tote letter so several orders come back from one walk.
Pick. Scan the item's barcode and press Enter — the next pending pick for it confirms. A scan that does not match is refused and says what it expected. Short records what was actually found and why; the order will ship what was picked and the rest goes on a backorder. A substitute is allowed only from the item's own substitution list.
Pack. The pack station shows picked-not-yet-packed per line, estimates the weight from item weights, and suggests the smallest box that takes it. Close a carton with its box and weight. Then either Buy label — compare carrier rates and buy postage on your own EasyPost account, see Buying shipping labels at the pack station (EasyPost) — or type the carrier and tracking number from the carrier's own tool. The footer of the pack screen says which of the two you are set up for.
Ship confirm is the moment inventory and cost of goods post — for exactly what is in the cartons, through the same fulfilment sales orders already use. The invoice follows the warehouse setting (on by default: one invoice for the shipment). Nothing waits for month-end.
